The Smarm Stops Here

So I drove over to Ross the Boss yesterday after work to get my quarterly haircut (or I guess you could just call it a trim), and I waited for about 15 minutes before a lady named Donna came out and called my name to go back.  I followed her to the place where they wash your hair and we made the usual smalltalk. Then I went to get a cut and we were talking some more when out of nowhere the conversation turned to Johnny Depp! Imagine that, I can’t even remember who brought his name up (it couldn’t have been me) but immediately Donna’s face lit up.  She said…”Oh, I just love him in that Pirate costume and I think he is so funny and weird in that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.” Of course I concurred with great enthusiasm. So we continued to chat about his movies and then I informed Donna that Johnny Depp is in fact in the Chicago area right now starring in a movie called Public Enemies which is about John Dillinger. She then tells me that her great-grandfather was a cousin to John Dillinger. Who knew? Of course I have no way of proving what she told me, but that is her claim. I’m not sure if I’d want to be in the same family as John Dillinger…but I wouldn’t mind being in Johnny Depp’s family, just sayin.
